The EFDSS Creative Bursary and Residency Programme, now in its 6th year, aims to support artists in exploring new creative ideas inspired by and sourced from traditional English folk music. This programme provides artists with an opportunity to undertake creative exploration without the pressure of a final product.
Every residency is unique with each artist needing a slightly different mix of the below, or even something not listed. The residency aims to support you to explore and create new work, and your application should reflect what you need to do achieve this.
Applications are open to ALL artists from ALL genres
The award is aimed at artists with a track-record as a professional creative artist (new and emerging artists should refer to the Seed Fund Bursaries). We encourage applications from all artists, at any stage of their career, from any art form or genre who wish to explore creative new work that is rooted in the English traditional folk arts.
All creative residencies must be started and completed between 1 September and 28 February the following year. Some artists have taken six months to think and then produce their work, and others spend a week working solely on one thing.
Applications are now closed
Bursaries to be completed by Thursday 28 February 2019
